AVFC SA: Umrah Visa Fees NOT Scrapped

November 07, 2016

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 07-11-2016

The Anti Visa Committee SA (AVFC SA) has urged people to stop sharing social media reports which indicate that the Saudi Arabian Government has scrapped the SR2000 visa fee for Umrah.

In a statement, the AVFC SA says the social media posts are not verified and originates from Pakistan.

Co-Chair Yusuf Abramjee says the SR 2,000 visa fee is still in effect.

“If and when anything changes, we will update South Africans. We support and join international calls in urging the Saudi Arabian Government to immediately scrap the visa fees.”

Abramjee says many pilgrims are delaying their journeys because of the exorbitant fee.
