Attempted House Robbery in Lenasia Leaves One Suspect Dead

One suspect has been killed in an attempted house robbery in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

The police’s Kay Makhubela said four armed men attempted to break into the home in Chennab Street, Extension 11A on Monday evening.

“They shot at the owner of the house and the owner retaliated and one suspect was shot and killed while the other suspects fled.”

Makhubela said the police have opened a case of murder and are investigating.

The owner of the house was rushed to Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital (Lenmed) with a gunshot wound to the leg.

He is in a stable condition.
