Concerns have been raised about alienation and the impact of the destructive force globally.

The World Health Organisation is leading the charge, deciding this year whether to include ‘parental alienation’ to its list of diseases and health issues in the revised edition of the International Classification of Diseases (“ICD”) diagnostic manual.

The negative condition is sweeping the globe insidiously, and the majority of people blame the increasing use of technology.

While social media and other forms of online communication connect more people, as a society, many people have never felt more alone.

According to the US National Institutes of Health, loneliness affects one-fifth of the population, while The United Kingdom’s Office for National Statistics reports that young adults aged 16-24 are more likely to feel lonely than older people.

Editor in Chief for Co-Creation magazine, Bob Jayco, says the world is facing a multitude of problems, and the effect is global alienation – a condition that produces annihilation through an angry and violent ‘us against them’ mindset in societies around the world.

“Even with all of our technological advancement, all of our intelligence as a species, we are unable to see what’s causing our alienation. It becomes overwhelming as we feel the personal effects and we start to believe we are unable to reverse it.”

Jayco says people should not lose heart as the power to reverse this self-destructive condition is up to the global community of humans and individuals.
