Another Crash on the N12 Freeway

October 22, 2014

There’s been yet another crash on the N12 Freeway

A truck pulling a trailer lost control and hit a house next to the N12 near the Kliprivier off-ramp, south of Johannesburg, on Wednesday.

Johannesburg Metro Police Department Wayne Minnaar said that the accident happened near Kliprivier drive off-ramp westbound.

“We alleged that the tyre busted, the driver lost control and drove over the centre island into a residential wall crushing part of the house, and luckily no one at the house was injured.”

Minnaar said two passengers and the driver were injured. Nobody in the house was hurt.

The police are investigating an accident charge of reckless and negligent driving.

Last week at least three people died when an 18 wheeler truck crashed into gridlocked traffic on the N12 while seven others remain in a critical condition.

Emergency services described the accident as one of the worst they have ever seen while Gauteng Transport MEC Ismail Vadi said the deadly pile up was shattering especially during transport month.
