Al Qadtr restaurant in Lenasia’s Central Business District was robbed last night.

The incident took place at 7 in the evening.

South African Police Services Captain Netshivodsa says ten armed men entered the restaurant.

They demanded cellphones from customers as well as the keys to the safe.

A shootout between the Lenasia SAPS and the suspects occurred.

At least two suspects were shot and killed.

One of those suspects belonged to the Johannesburg Metro Ploce Department.

According to JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minaar, the corrupt official belonged to a syndicate.

Minaar says had the officer remained alive, he would have been charged and subsequently dismissed.
