Al Baraka bank has announced Shamshad Begum Bux from Stanger in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Faeeza Banu Khan from Lenasia in Gauteng have each won R 20,000 in its 27th annual Hajj Investment Account Competition.

As Hajj and Umrah becomes more expensive every year, the Hajj Investment Account allows people to invest as little as one hundred Rand a month towards the journey of lifetime to Makkah for Umrah or Hajj.

Albaraka marketing manager Yunus Paruk says the annual hajj competition is open to all hajj investment account holders who have an active account with a minimum balance of R 2,500.

He says it doesn’t matter if a person has previously been for hajj or not been accredited.

Paruk says over the last 26 draws of the competition, eighty four people have won the competition and had the cash deposited into their Hajj Investment account.

“Annually they sponsor three hajj investment account clients that’s Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban with a cash amount which is deposited into their Hajj Investment account enabling them to save faster. It’s created an incentive and a platform for them to achieve their goals faster, Alhamdulillah.”

Paruk says the draw usually takes place during the blessed month of Ramadan and is internally audited and supervised by the management of Al Baraka bank.
