A 21st Century Genocide of Asian Muslims

December 10, 2020

By Naadiya Adams –  @Miss_Naadiya

As an Ummah, we are engrossed in all things that affect our community at large, the war in Palestine, the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia’s latest political envoy and so forth… but our Asian brothers are being slaughtered in China and mainstream media fails to report it.

A 21st Century genocide as described by Uyghur, Arslan Hidayat. While speaking to Radio Islam, Hidayat detailed how Uyghurs in Xingjiang, China are detained for virtually “nothing” as they are discriminated against based on religion and their way of life (being different from that of the Chinese) but more, so they are being slaughtered for “halaal organs”.

“It is estimated by one expert, Ethan Goodman, saying 25000 Uyghurs have disappeared per year over the last few years and he believes Uyghurs have died in this way through organ harvesting. And most of these organs are being sold to the highest bidder in the Middle East,” says Hidayat.

Uyghur oncology surgeon Enver Tohti, who carried out the first live organ transplant on a Uyghur Muslim prisoner in 1995 described how prisoners are killed on demand and their organs are mostly sold to Arabs in Saudi Arabia. While speaking to Medium, he detailed how Arab customers wanted “Halaal organs,” meaning that they must come from the bodies of Muslims rather than those who followed other religions.

Hidayat says “When the Uyghurs first go into the camps, their blood, their DNA is tested and it is put into a special data base and when people want to go get a liver, lung whatever transplant they want, the Chinese go into this data base and essentially kill off any prisoners that match with the person who is about to get such an organ transplant.”

In 2019, testimony from the China Tribunal – a pressure group which campaigns on organ harvesting – told a sitting of a UN Human Rights body that the government of China has been taking hearts, kidneys, lungs and skin from groups including Uighur Muslims and members of the Falun Gong religious group.

China Tribunal lawyer Hamid Sabi said the group had proof of the “forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience in China.”

Sabi said that the tribunal had “proved beyond reasonable doubt” that China is committing “crimes against humanity” by harvesting organs from religious factions like the Uyghurs

Claims which China denied but did admit to using organs of executed prisoners, though they claim to have stopped in 2015.

The Muslim community in Xingjiang are a Turk speaking minority and not in fact Chinese, though they originate from the central and east Asian regions.

While the matter continues to take centre stage at the United Nations Human Rights Council, no plans have been put in place to deal with the situation and the harvesting of “halaal organs” continues.
