1. To be reminded of one’s won good health and to increase in Shukr (gratitude) to Allah for this bounty.
2. To provide moral support to the ill person.
3. To pray various Duas mentioned in the Hadith for the sick person.
4. To assist in the sick person in whichever way possible.
5. To make sure that the sick person is taken care of.
6. To reap the many rewards of visiting the sick.
Sayyadina Ibn Abbas RA said: “The first visit to a sick person is Sunnah, while any subsequent visit is a voluntary act (a good deed).”
Sayyadina Abu Musa RA reported that Rasulullah SAW, said: “Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and free the captives.”
