The Eldorado Park anti-drug and anti-gang activist Ayob Mungalee’s murder has sparked anger, which the Portfolio Committee on Community Safety of the Gauteng Legislature has echoed.

The passing of the well-known community leader renowned for his staunch opposition to narcotics and gangsterism that still afflict Eldorado Park has left the neighbourhood grieving.

Mungalee was shot and killed Sunday night as he walked to his son’s car wash and nearby home. His premature death is said to have left a gap in the community, and he will always be remembered as an activist who gallantly led the neighbourhood in taking on those who harassed Eldorado Park.

Additionally, the Committee offered its sincere sympathies to the Mungalee family, his friends, and the entire community of Eldorado Park, joining the many other Gauteng residents who value peace. It also urged people to contact the police if they had any information that could be used to locate the offenders.
