The African National Congress (ANC) will be heading into its 55th national conference in Nasrec from 16-20 December to elect the party’s new leaders.

It is understood that a delegation of approximately 4,500 members will attend the conference set to kick off on Friday.

Radio Islam International will be providing coverage of the conference in Nasrec from 16-20 December.

The delegate’s task is to vote for the next president of the ANC, top officials and 80 additional members who’ll make up the National Executive Committee (NEC), which will function as the highest decision-making body.

Elections for these positions will be done via secret ballot, with the winner determined through a majority voting system.

Running for ANC president at the conference is current president Cyril Ramaphosa and former health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.

Stay tuned to Radio Islam International as we bring rolling coverage of the ANC’s 55th national conference on air and online.

Is that why you feel that you need to promote that you are going and setting up at NASREC? I mean, other media houses are not promoting that they are ready for NASREC? Yes, they are indeed reporting on what’s happening there, but they are not making a big noise about setting up and making it known that they are all out there. You guys seem to be seeking attention. What benefit is there in promoting your presence there? Yes, reporting on NASREC is another story… but writing about being there ??? Why?
