A key border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan has reopened two days after a cross-border exchange of fire killed at least nine Pakistani civilians and an Afghan soldier.

The incident is one of the recent scrimmages between the Afghanistan Taliban and Pakistani forces.

Speaking to Radio Islam International, Freelance Journalist based in Afghanistan, Bismellah Pashtunml said the situation is now normal.

The border is still disputed between the two countries and is not seen as a formal border. Pashtun said the Afghan government yearly increases the tension and conflict between Afghan soldiers in Pakistan border forces.

The border is used for trade as well as a pedestrian crossing.

Meanwhile, the incident led to a strong response from the Pakistani government. In a statement released yesterday, the Pakistani Prime Ministry said the Taliban government had assured him that such an incident would not happen again.

However, Pashtun said there are no guarantees as there have been many misconceptions between the Afghanistan government and people against the Pakistan government.
