Health Department Stops Daily Covid-19 Updates

August 02, 2022

By Abu Muhammad

The Department of Health will no longer release daily Covid-19 reports as it has been doing since the start of the pandemic in 2020. It will now release reports on a weekly basis.

Radio Islam spoke to Doctor Tswale

“Over the pass tow months and more particularly the last two week and assessment was done and it was felt that we should reduce the time spend daily on compiling the numbers.”

One month ago, the department announced that it would no longer release reports over weekends.

Tswale further emphasised that this not mean that pandemic is over. Covid is going to be with us for the rest of our lives. It is just that the numbers have gone down as the level of immunity has increased.
