Denmark is shocked as a gunman opens fire and kills three at the Copenhagen shopping centre

A gunman has killed three individuals and battle-scarred another four at a store in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen.

Danish capital chief police inspector Søren Thomassen aforementioned the victims — a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old lady, both Danes and a 47-year-old Russian man — were killed once the gunman opened fire on Sunday afternoon within the Field’s shopping centre, one among Scandinavia’s biggest.

Four others were treated for shooting wounds — 2 Danish and 2 Swedish citizens — and were in critical, however stable condition, Thomassen aforementioned. He added that many others suffered minor injuries while fleeing the shopping centre.

Police aforementioned the suspected shooter, 22, had psychological state problems, and there’s no indication of a terror motive.

The suspect, delineated as “an ethnic Dane” by police, will face questioning by a judge on Monday.

The suspect had a rifle and ammunition once he was arrested, police aforementioned.

They do not indicate that different attackers were concerned and urged look owners to preserve any video police investigation footage they may have.

Field’s has over one hundred forty retailers and restaurants. The multi-storey mall is on the outskirts of Copenhagen, simply across from a subway line that connects to the city centre.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the aforementioned Scandinavian nation, had suffered a cruel attack.

She said she wished to encourage Danes to face along and support one another during this troublesome time.

“It is meaningless, grievous and Pointless,” she said. “Our lovely and frequently thus safe capital was modified in an exceedingly blink of an eye.”

The deadly shopping centre attack passed as the Scandinavian nation celebrated hosting the primary three stages of the Tour de France for the first time.

Denmark last saw a militant attack in 2015, 2 individuals were killed and six cops wounded when a lone gunman shot and killed a person outside a culture centre hosting a discussion on freedom of speech and later killed someone outside a Jewish synagogue in central Copenhagen.

That gunman was killed during a shoot-out with police.

“Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with the victims, their relatives and everyone stricken by the tragedy,” Denmark’s Queen Margrethe and the prince couple said in a statement.
