Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Hajj Minister Dr. Abdul Fattah Mashat has announced that the number of Umrah pilgrims during the new Umrah season in the new Hijri year will not be capped or limited.
Dr Mashat was addressing a meeting of the National Committee for Hajj, Umrah and Visit Activities at the ministry’s headquarters.
Mashat says authorities have been directed to extend the necessary support to the licenced agents and are awaiting a response.
“Also work is underway to exclude those Umrah service companies from extending Umrah services following the imposition of fines over them for various violations.”
Mashat also approved the categories of hotels licensed in the “Maqam” portal with a condition of total compliance with all the requirements approved by the Health Ministry.
Saudi Arabia announced last month that the resumption for Umrah for international pilgrims will begin on 1 Muharram of the Islamic calendar 1443 which corresponds to around 9 August.
All countries will be allowed to send direct flights to Saudi Arabia for umrah except for nine countries which require a fourteen-day quarantine in a third country before arriving in the Kingdom.
These countries include, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa and Lebanon.
