Lenasia police are urging the Lenasia community to respect the lockdown level 3 regulations or face being arrested.
This comes after a number of people have been handcuffed for violating the curfew which starts at 10pm and ends at 4am.
In the latest incident three people were arrested for contravention of the Disaster Management Act Level 3.
Police say the individuals failed to produce a permit and to give a reasonable explanation for violating the curfew period.
The police’s Bafana Ndimande says the individuals are expected to appear at the Lenasia Magistrates Court soon.
“The police were performing patrol duties at Lehae Phase 3 RDP houses Lenasia when they came across three unknown males. The officers asked for permits to be on the street/road during the curfew period. The males failed to produce and to give reasonable explanation. The officers arrested the them for failure to be confined to place of residence during the curfew period. They were detained at Lenasia SAPS cells.”
On Tuesday Six people were also arrested in Lenasia violating the curfew period.
