South Africa has recorded 13,575 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the overall number of infections in the country to 1,810,164.
Additionally, 149 deaths were captured in the past day with the number of fatalities now sitting at 58,590.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng (62%), followed by Western Cape (11%). North West accounted for 6%; Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga each accounted for 4%; Eastern Cape and Limpopo each accounted for 3%; and Northern Cape accounted for 2% of today’s cases.
Recoveries recorded since the outbreak are at 90,6%, which translates to over 1,640,849.
