Lenasia police are investigating a case of murder and business robbery after a man was shot dead at a business in Volta Street, extension 10.
It is understood a group of armed criminals pretending to be customers entered the shop on Friday demanding money from the assistant behind the counter.
The police’s Bafana Ndimande says investigations into the incident is continuing.
“One of the assailants shot him twice on the upper body and he fell onto the floor as a result. They took cash and other items to an undisclosed amount of money, and they ran away on foot. The paramedics were summoned to the crime scene and certified the victim dead.”
Ndimande has appealed to the community to assist police with any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
