Lenasia based NGO Saaberie Chishty Society has announced that it has purchased earth moving equipment, a TLB or Bobcat to assist in challenges experienced in the Muslim burial process especially during COVID-19.

The organisation embarked on the fundraising campaign  to purchase the TLB or Bobcat with overwhelming donations and support from various communities.

However, the organisation says it delayed the purchase to make an informed decision about whether the earth moving equipment would have adequately addressed their needs.

A samaritan provided Saaberie Chishty with a TLB or Bobcat on trial bases last year before the organisation decided to buy its own plant.

Saaberie Chishty’s Abu Bakr Sayed has thanked the community for their generous donations towards the purchase of the TLB.

“This machine comes at an important time with a significant increase in funerals and the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Sayed says the TLB machine will go into service in a few days.
