Durban man critical after being shot outside mosque

A 57-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot multiple times with a high-calibre weapon by a lone gunman outside a mosque in Durban today.

Emer-G-Med Paramedics’ Kyle van Reenen says the incident occurred at 10 am outside the Masjid Izhaarul Haq mosque in Spencer Road, Reservoir Hills.
Van Reenen added that the man was placed on advanced life support to stabilise him before being taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, but the SAPS will be investigating.
