The Palestine Information Network (PIN) says an analyst has indicated if a peace initiative in Egypt between Palestine and Israel fails to address core issues of the conflict, Gaza will once again become a target for Israeli occupation forces.
PIN’s Hafez Ebrahim Moosa was speaking to Radio Islam on Monday during the Palestine report.
Israel’s latest attack on Gaza claimed the lives of at least 254 Palestinians including 66 children, while more than 1,900 others were wounded.
Egypt brokered a ceasefire after 11 days of attacks on Gaza by Israeli occupation forces.
Hafez Moosa says the peace meeting in Egypt will attempt to broker a permanent ceasefire.
“One analyst said that if this peace initiative fails to address the core issues, rebuilding Gaza will do nothing but establish a new set of targets for Israel’s next war.”
Hafez Moosa says there is also a concerted effort to remove Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyahu from office.
“On the Israeli internal front, there is a concerted effort now to remove Netanyahu once and for all. You have Naftali Bennett’s Yamina party which has announced that he wants to be the main partner to Yesh Atid party and they are making efforts to form a new coalition.”
Hafez Moosa also touched on other updates from Palestine including a bookshop that was destroyed in Gaza has been reconstructed in Sheikh Jarrah.
