The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has asked the legislator members of the Jewish Caucus to clarify their stance on Islamophobic hateful social media posts penned by Republican Randy Fine on the Jewish Caucus’ letterhead.
Cairs’ Ibrahim Hooper was speaking during the America Report on Radio Islam about Fine’s statement, presumably on behalf of the entire Jewish Caucus, that dehumanizes all Palestinians and uses Islamophobic tropes.
Hooper says the spewing hate and inciting violence is simply unacceptable conduct for an elected official whose duty is to serve the public.
“They just spew this stuff in any from or from any platform they can and that’s why our Florida office is challenging this guy. As you can see the anti-Palestinian, Islamophobia, anti-Arab gets mixed up with all the other bigotry these guys share. The immigrants, xenophobia, all these kinds of things so bigots are bigots and they are rarely choosey in their targets.”
Cair says its message to Fine and the legislators is clear, Islamophobic rhetoric and dehumanization of groups can simply not be tolerated.
Hooper also spoke about the approval of the transparency ordinance for Detroit surveillance cameras; Cair’s protest actions against Israel’s massacre of Palestinians and Cair California holding its 10th Annual Muslim Day in Sacramento.
