A social activist based in Gaza has painted a grim and horrific picture of Israeli occupation forces attack on the Gaza Strip.
Issam Hammad was speaking to Radio Islam live from Gaza on Wednesday after an overnight bombardment by Israel with the death toll continuing to rise rapidly.
The Gaza Health Ministry says the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has claimed the lives of 43 Palestinians including 13 children.
Hammad says it was a very hard night for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
“Particularly this night it was absolutely they bombed lots of places and rocketed the major buildings of the civil security in Gaza and also flats and houses for civilians which was rocked to earth. “
Hammad says Palestinians are tired of Israeli harassment.
“We are fed up with Israeli harassment and Israeli activities and it has to stop, it just has to stop.”
Hammad says the Palestinian resistance warned Israeli occupation forces and even gave them a deadline to stop attacks on Masjid Al-Aqsa and Palestinians, failing which they would retaliate and protect Islam’s third holiest site including the lives of innocent men, women and children.
“From the beginning they sent the rockets not on civilian areas. They said to the Israeli’s, ‘if you attack civilians we will attack civilians. If you attack buildings, we will attack buildings. If they attack strategic areas, they will attack strategic areas and this is the whole story.’”
Meanwhile, protests are being held across the world to stand in solidarity with Palestinians and to condemn Israel’s deadly airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
