After a slight reprieve, Israeli occupation forces continued with their attacks on Masjid Al-Aqsa.

The Palestine Information Network (PIN) reports that after the Taraweeh on Monday night, Islam’s third holiest site was transformed into exactly the same theatre for Israeli attacks as Monday.

“Worshippers were besieged in the Qibli Musallah, Dome of the Rock and Marwani Musallah. There was more suffocation from gas and other injuries where medical attention was denied until the Israeli forces ultimately withdrew.”

Pin says soldiers being present, let alone utilizing a place of worship at Al-Aqsa  as a military arena and shooting range is abnormal and unacceptable.

“Let not the abundance of reports and footage of such Israeli crime desensitize us to abnormality of this status quo. Just because Masjid al-Aqsa consist of vast open areas does not make these spaces any less worthy of respect. The entire 144 000 square metres is Masjid al-Aqsa. Not a hand span of this was not visited by an angel or stood upon by a Prophet of Allah.”

Pin says the spiritual benefit, significance and reward of the Al Aqsa is applicable throughout regardless of the terrain.

On Monday Palestinian resistance in Gaza fired a number of rockets  towards Israeli controlled areas in Jerusalem, leading to alert sirens being fired and Israelis scrambling for bomb shelters.
