Fire Engulfs Textile Factory in Overport, Durban

A fire has engulfed a textile factory in Overport, Durban.

Footage from the scene on Monday showed flames and smoke billowing from the third storey of the building on Brickfield Road.

KZN emergency sevices Robert Mckenzie says there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.

“It’s believed that textiles are produced in this factory. There are several floors at this factory. Firefighters are trying stop it’s spreading to adjacent buildings.”

Mckenzie says the cause of the fire is not known.
