Following Hamas having gained control of Gaza in 2007, the enclaves land and sea borders were blockaded by Israel. Gaza has since been regularly targeted.
Al Jazeera reports that in the latest attack, the second in the space of days, the Israeli military has carried out air attacks against ‘terror targets’ in the Gaza Strip following what it claims had been a rocket attack from the Palestinian enclave.
The Israeli army claims to have targeted a “training facility, an anti-aircraft missile launcher post, a concrete production plant and ‘terror’ tunnel infrastructure”. Witnesses and security sources supposedly said the raids struck two fighter “training sites” in southern Gaza and another target in central Gaza.
A Hamas spokesman, meanwhile, said, “Gaza still fights and doesn’t break”.
According to Al Jazeerah, on Thursday last week, the Israeli army launched air attacks on Gaza as well. There were reportedly no casualties.
