Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola says Allah has repeatedly impressed upon the ummah about the politeness of speech.

Ml Moola was sharing some advices about having respect towards people when we are speaking to them.

Sadly, a reality of today’s world the anecdote of “you say it best when you say nothing at all” has been frowned upon by many Muslims.

It is heart breaking to witness and be aware of the disdain, disrespect and animosity that Muslims direct at each other including brother against brother, sons and daughters against fathers and mothers and even grandchildren against grandparents making them shed tears.

Ml Moola says in the Qur’an in the second juz, chapter 33, verse 70, Allah says if a person can harness their tongue and have refined speech, than you have secured the goodness of both the worlds.

“You will find that many people would adhere to protocol and they are very dignified in their interaction in a formal setting, corporate environment, religious institute with seniors and elders. But that very individual, when he’s with juniors or an in informal gathering, or defeated in an argument, then oh boy, oh boy, you will see the display of the most abusive language that you’ve ever heard in your life.”

Ml Moola says the test of speech is when a person can harness their tongue and be careful what they utter.
