A woman was shot dead after having entered the Indonesian National Police Headquarters in Jakarta and pointing a gun at several officers.
Al Jazeera reports that following a suicide bombing at a Roman Catholic cathedral on Sulawesi island last Sunday, Indonesian authorities were on heightened alert for possible attacks against police and places of worship. At least 20 people had been wounded in Sunday’s attack.
According to Al Jazeera a woman wearing a long black robe and a blue veil could be seen in video footage, near a parking lot at the police headquarters. She reportedly pointed a gun at officers, in what’s being called a ‘terror attack’, before being shot dead.
Meanwhile, in Sunday’s attack, a couple said to be recently married, had used pressure cooker bombs to blow themselves up outside the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral in Makassar, after being confronted by the church’s guards. They reportedly were part of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah group which is supposedly pro-ISIS. They had allegedly warned of further attacks.
