67 More succumb to Coronavirus as South Africa Marks One Year Since COVID-19 Hard Lockdown

As South Africa marks exactly one year since the country entered the COVID-19 hard lockdown  Sixty-seven more people have died in South Africa after contracting the coronavirus, pushing the national death toll to 52,602

The Health Department says another 1,516 more infections were also picked up over the past 24 hours, pushing the country’s known caseload since the start of the pandemic a year to more than 1 543,079

The recovery rate stands at 95.2% with just over 1,469,565 people having recuperated from the virus.

On the vaccine front, more than 231,002 healthcare workers have so far received the jab.
