The Mataf around the Kaaba in Makkah has been reopened for non-Umrah worshippers.
The decision follows a sterilization operation at the Haram.
The Saudi Press Agency reports the General President of the Haram and Masjin-un-Nabawi in Medina Sheikh Dr. Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais stressed the need to adhere to the protocols with all the workers in the Haram to serve its visitors.
Muslims performed Friday prayers at the Haram and Masjid-un-Nabawi for the first time since restrictions aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus were announced by Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile Al Sudais launched the Ramadan plans for Masjid-un-Nabawi in Madinah on Thursday.
According to the plans, 60,000 worshippers will be allowed in the precinct at one time (45000 inside and 15000 outside) under strict social distancing protocols
The plans also indicated that Masjid-un-Nabawi will close half an hour after Taraweeh salaah and will reopen two hours before the Fajr, except during the last ten days of Ramadan which it will remain open 24/7.
Reading salaah in the Rawdah will be reserved for Imams, workers, and funeral attendees.
Plans for Iftaar and Iti’kaf are expected to be announced after recommendations from the Health Ministry.
