South Africans can now get their prescription and over-the counter medication delivered to their homes the same-day or the next-day following the launch of a new mobile app called PharmaGo.

The idea for the app came from Wits graduate Raees Carim, when a relative couldn’t access their essential medicine after pharmacy closing hours.

According to PharmaGo, users are able to upload their prescriptions to the app, process payment via card or a direct medical aid submission and get free deliveries to their home or place of work.

PharmaGo says it has developed an eco system that connects the user, driver partner and the pharmacist to ensure a smooth order and delivery every time.

Carim has plans to expand the network of participating pharmacies including expanding the product offerings to include health, wellness, and beauty  among others.

The app is available to download for free on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
