Free 90-minute PCR Test Introduced at Abu Dhabi International Airport

Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates has introduced a rapid COVID-19 test. The tests results are delivered in 90 minutes. Al Arabiyya reports that the airport is the first airport in the region with an on-site laboratory.

With the exception of transit passengers, the tests, which are at no charge, are to be offered to all arrivals at the airport.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office, meanwhile, says the airport can test up to 20 000 people per day, with more than 190 staff deployed to administer the tests.

Meanwhile, Etihad airlines last month said that all pilots and cabin crew on its flights had been vaccinated. The airline is based in Abu Dhabi.

Al Arabiyya reports that Dubai’s ‘Pure Health’ medical equipment supplier, and Abu Dhabi’s ‘Tamouh Healthcare’ have partnered to deliver the free testing.
