The African National Congress (ANC) says it will conduct nationwide pickets on Tuesday against the scourge of racism at eNCA offices and other centres
There has been widespread outrage following a viral video showing eNCA journalist Lindsay Dentlinger asking some politicians to keep their masks on during interviews while allowing some others to speak without a mask.
The ANC says it is also against Dentlingers conduct by the eNCA management.
Spokesperson Pule Mabe says where there are no eNCA offices, the pickets will take place at Human Rights Commission offices or nearest police station
“We find the conduct by Lindsay Detlinger to be a blight on the very efforts carried by the people of South Africa to fight the scourge of racism and also raising the alarm on the statement issued by eNCA trying to justify actions by their own journalist. We feel this is an issue that must be elevated so that a solution could be found.”
Mabe says the pickets will take place in line with COVID-19 regulations.
