Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaimaan Ravat says the greatest gift a person can receive is the gift of imaan and parents.

Ml Ravat was speaking during Sabaahul Muslim, the morning drivetime show on Radio Islam on Thursday.

Muslims have always been urged to reflect on the bounty of being born a Muslim, a beautiful gift that have been bestowed upon us by Allah.

Ml Ravat says we should thank Allah for the many bounties that He has gifted us with.

“Let us specifically, consciously, emphatically thank Allah for the bounty of imaan. There are so many who have better qualities than us. There are so many that on the apparent that would be more deserving than us. Yet Allah has selected us, Allah has chosen us to grant us imaan and he’s chosen us to be from the Ummah Muhammad-ur-Rasulullah (SAW).”

Ml Ravat also touched on the topic of our parents who Allah has spoken about in the Holy Qur’an

Ml Ravat narrated a dua from Surah Isra, the 17th juz of the Holy Qur’an verse 24.

“’My Lord show them (parents) mercy just as they cared for me when I was a little child.’ This dua comes in the Qur’an immediately after the verse where Allah tells us: ‘That after Him, the greatest obligation we have is towards our parent and that we need to treat them kindly, we should not eve say “oof” to them.’”

Ml Ravat say immediately after that verse Allah highlights to us that as believers we ought to be making dua for our parents.
