South Africa has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections with 17,710 cases reported as the country goes through the second wave of the pandemic.
The Health Ministry says the latest cases published have pushed the known number of infections since the start of the outbreak to 1,039,161
Another 465 people have also died after contracting the virus.
These latest fatalities bring the national death toll to 28,033
The ministry says the recovery rate currently stands 83.5% meaning that 867,597 people who have recuperated.
South Africa currently stands at number 17 globally in terms of the number of Coronavirus infections worldwide.
On Monday President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that South Africa will move beck to level three of the Coronavirus lockdown to stop the spread of the virus.
