South Africa has breached the one million COVID-19 infections marks as the country goes through the second wave of the pandemic.
The Health Ministry says that another 9,502 COVID-19 infections have been picked up on Sunday.
The latest cases published have pushed the known number of infections since the start of the outbreak to 1,004,413
Another 214 people have also died after contracting the virus.
These latest fatalities bring the national death toll to 26,735
The ministry says the recovery rate currently stands 84.1% meaning that 844,874 people who have recuperated.
South Africa currently stands at number eighteen globally in terms of the number of Coronavirus infections worldwide.
