COVID-19 in SA Continues Grim Climb as Deaths Hit 21,000 & Infections More than 772,000

One hundred and fifteen more people have died in South Africa after contracting the coronavirus.

These latest fatalities bring the national death toll to 21,083

The Health Ministry says that another 2,493 infections were also picked up over the past 24-hour cycle, pushing the number of known cases since the start of the outbreak to more than 772,252

The recovery rate is at 92.8%, meaning that so far, more than 716,444 people have recuperated.

The Eastern Cape still has the highest number of active cases, with over 8,512 in that province.
