Al-Aqsa School in Lenasia Extension 10 has confirmed that one of the educators at the school has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement, the school principal Hamida Moosa says the educator only started displaying Coronavirus symptoms on Friday and has not been at school since.
“As a precaution, Al-Aqsa School Extension 10 will be closed for decontamination until further notice. The requisite departments of eduction and health have been contacted and the prescribed protocols are being followed.”
She has urged learners and colleagues follow self-monitoring and if necessary present themselves for testing.
Moosa says online classes will continue in the interim.
