Bilal Combined School in Lenasia South Closed After Staff Member Tests Positive for COVID-19

Bilal Combined School in Lenasia South has confirmed that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been advised by health authorities to self isolate.

In a statement, officials of the school say the staff member had not been in direct contact with learners and been absent from school since  8 June.

The school says all health and education department’s have been notified.

“As a result and purely as a precautionary measure the school will be closed until further notice for deep cleaning and sanitizing purposes. Parents/Guardian/Caregivers will be notified on the reopening date via currently active WhatsApp groups.”

Bilal Combined has encouraged physical distancing and other preventative measures continue to be practiced by learners.

A number of schools in Lenasia including Lenasia Secondary, Peterosa Primary, Model Primary, Harmony Primary and Kiasha Park Primary in Lenasia South among some others have had to close their gates following  COVID-19 infections.
