The renovation and maintenance works of the “Qibli Wall” (the southern wall facing Makkah) and all its heritage decorations in Masjid-un-Nabawi have been completed.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reports the renovation is in line with the state’s policy since the era of late King Abdulaziz until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, in preserving the components of the heritage and history of Masjid-un-Nabawi.
The project was carried out by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and Madinah Development Authority, with the participation of relevant Saudi specialists.
It includes the renovation and restoration of the decoration components, including laying glazed decorative frames of various sizes, which beautifies the wall at the Qiblah.
The renovation also included the total area of all the marble surfaces covering the Qibli Corridor known as the Al-Riwaaq Al-Qibli.
The Riwaaq Al-Qibli includes the Mihrab of Uthman Ibn Affan (RA) and the “door leading to the prayer areas of Masjid-un-Nabawi from the chamber of Hafsah (RA) as this constitutes a heritage discovery in decoration and Islamic architecture.
