President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation at 8:30pm on Wednesday after more than 19 days.
The president last spoke to South Africans in April about government’s nationwide lockdown in response to Covid-19.
Ramaphosa’s address this evening is expected to be on the ongoing measures put in place by government to manage the spread of the coronavirus through the implementation of a risk-adjusted strategy.
South Africa is currently under level 4 lockdown.
Many people Radio Islam spoke to are hoping that Ramaphosa eases some of the lockdown regulations even further including lifting of the cigarette ban and allowing places of worship to be opened.
