President Cyril Ramaphosa has delivered a message to all South Africans ahead of the New Year.
The President praised South Africans for ensuring a vibrant democracy and for overcoming the numerous challenges we faced as a nation.
In a video uploaded on numerous media platforms, Ramaphosa reflects on the accomplishments and obstacles faced by South Africans in 2019.
He has also called on South Africans to turn adversity into opportunity in 2020.
The President touched on the May elections, The struggling Economy, Gender-based violence as well as The Springboks Rugby World cup win.
“As a nation, we have witnessed the brutality perpetrated by men against women and against children. We have seen lives, both young and old, ended with brutal violence. We have seen fear in our homes, schools and streets.”
He’s wished all South Africans well for 2020 and urged citizens to continue working together for the country’s prosperity.
