Cape Town police have launched a manhunt for two suspects after a 56-year-old man and husband of a prominent community dentist was murdered at her practice in Khayelitsha.
It’s understood two unknown suspects, one of whom was armed with a firearm, entered the dental offices of Dr Camillah Bayat on Tuesday and threatened a security guard, taking his keys and ordering him into one of the rooms.
Police say a case of murder and business robbery has been opened
Spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk say the circumstances surrounding the shooting is unknown and investigations are continuing.
“They took the gate keys and forced the security into one of the rooms. The security guards then hear three gunshots few seconds after he went out and discovered that the 56-year-old victim was shot in the head and the suspects were gone. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical assistance where he later died due to injuries sustained.”
Van Wyk has appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact the police
