Thousands of Palestinians are performing Fajr, the early dawn prayer at the Ibrahimi Masjid in Palestine.

It’s believed the initiative is part of an assertive campaign by Palestinians to take back their rights at the Ibrahimi Masjid in Hebron.

The campaign is also a means to confront Israeli settlement projects in the area close to the masjid.

Radio Islam’s Hafez Ebrahim Moosa says the campaign is especially pronounced on the day of Jumu’ah where about eight thousand Palestinians are reported to be reading Fajr at the masjid.

“To complete the experience, the worshippers as they come out of the masjid are being served hot soup by authorities in charge of the masjid. They’re also giving them deserts and sponsors have pitched giving chocolates and juice to these thousands of worshippers.”

Hafez Moosa also touched on the India, Myanmar, Israel axis and Israel working towards the detention of Palestinian deceased in his Palestine report which airs on Monday mornings on Radio Islam.
