An elderly woman has been killed and two others injured in a fire at a house in Fordsburg.
It’s understood Joburg Emergency Services responded to the scene after the house caught alight on Monday.
Spokesman Robert Mulaudzi says the injured patients were taken to the nearest healthcare facility for further treatment.
“Our vehicles responded to a fire incident in Fordsburg where one patient lost their life during the fire incident and the other two sustained injuries and they received advanced medical care. At this stage, the cause of the fire is the subject of an investigation.”
Mulaudzi has urged residents to look out for any electrical appliances, which might cause fire incidents at home.
