Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Ebrahim Bham says it is wrong for Aamil’s to tell people not to consult or take cures from professionals.

Ml Bham was answering a question from a listener on the Social programme on Radio Islam on Thursday.

The caller expressed concerns about consulting Aamil’s and whether they could be trusted in assisting, diagnosing and curing problems of people including those that may be ill.

Ml Bham says Ulama have given a clear indication about consulting Aamil’s.

“Our Ulama have said, ‘when there’s a clear cut means and there’s a clear cut explanation about something then don’t go unnecessary into something that is not clear cut.’”

Ml Bham has also warned people to be wary of Aamil’s with aspirations of financial gain.

“Another aspect with regards to Aamil’s and especially those who take exorbitant sums and obviously you need to then question their motive and intention. Is it done out of the sake of Almighty Allah or for the sake of that big money that they are asking.”

Ml Bham has urged people to be very careful and scrutinize Aamil’s before consulting them on various matters.
