The principal of Alpha Primary School in Lenasia says the remedial centre donated to the school will go a long way in assisting learners who are struggling in the classroom.

Habbatul Ilm Trust together with the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa sponsored the remedial centre and books for the school’s library.

Principal Hasina Mohammed says Alpha Primary had a vision to assist learners that were struggling academically.

“All learners learn at different levels and there was a need to help the learners to improve. We had learners struggling in spelling, in reading, in Mathematics and we find that most our learners are not developed properly when they start school.”

Mohammed says educators have found a remarkable improvement in learners after they attended the remedial class.

She has thanked Habbatul Ilm Trust for the donation.

“When Habbatul Ilm approached us we said to them other than just sponsoring us reading books for our library, we want you to assist us in developing our resource centre in our remedial classroom.

Habbatul Ilm Trust has been involved in a number of projects.

In July the organization together with the Lenasia Muslim School and 27Four contributed more than half a million Rand to upgrade the library at Flamingo Primary School.
