A Cape Town family travelling across Africa in their Land Cruiser 4 x 4 to embark on the blessed journey of hajj say even if they don’t get Hajj visas, the trip itself has been a once in a lifetime experience.
Marwaan Jabaar, his wife and two children left Cape Town on 13 June for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The family travelled through Botswana, Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya where, they took a flight to Jordan and are currently based.
While the family do not have Hajj visas, Jabbar says he is making dua that Insha’Allah he can secure visas before he arrives in the Kingdom.
“Bismillah if I don’t get the visas Alhamdulillah, I still want to do this journey. We set off and now that we’re in Jordan, we’re doing our best to try and acquire these visas, but at the moment I don’t feel we are going to get it.”
Jabaar says the aim of the journey was to make his children explore the world.
“The best of this was enjoying the scenery, seeing places I’ve never seen before, nature. I think that the highlight of this, my 9-year-old daughter, she said, ‘this was the best day of my life’, rightly so it was at Victoria Falls.”
Jabaar says part of their niyaah was also to spend more quality time with their two younger children.
