The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (GDP) says it takes about 40 seconds to complete the entry procedures of hujjaj arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from across the world for Hajj.
Asharq al Awsat reports the estimation time starts from the moment hujjaj enter the specified lounge at King Abdulaziz Airport until they leave the facility.
The GDP also revealed that it processes about 70,000 hujjaj per day during peak time.
More than 80 flights are scheduled per day with that number expected to peak at around 160 in August when Hajj will take place.
According to statistics, some 673,000 hujjaj have arrived from outside Saudi Arabia for the annual hajj, which is the largest gathering of Muslims in the world.
