Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Caucus leader Solly Msimanga has told Radio Islam that Gauteng Premier David Makhura has not provided a comprehensive plan for the province.

Msimanga was responding to Makhura’s state of the province address on Monday.

Among issues Makhura addressed were inequality, the economy, tourism and hospitality and land issues.

Msimanga says Makhura should’ve come prepared to present plans and not ask for a hundred days to do so.

“Its worrying that a premier, that is not a new premier but comes and still tells us of him going to consult with his MEC’s instead of him having met with the MEC’s coming to tell us what is a concrete plan in terms of how they’re going to be able to then deal with the issues of the economy, safety and security, how they’re going to be dealing with the issues of education.”

Msimanga says Makhura must take steps to eliminate e-tolls or the DA will take action.

“By now we’re expecting him to come up decisively and saying the e-tolls are going to be scrapped, when they’re going to be scrapped.”

Msimanga says Makhura cannot claim private sector successes as his own.
