Listen to Ml Sulaimaan Ravat’s Eid lecture here:

Thousands of people from across Gauteng attended the Eidgah, making it one of the biggest gatherings of the Eid salaah in the province.

In his lecture, Ml Ravat emphasized and explained how current global conditions and personal challenges have overwhelmed Muslims individually and collectively, resulting in heightened pessimism.

He elaborated on seven reasons as to why Islam wants Muslims to be positive and rendered examples of how Nabi Muhammad (SAW) always remained optimistic despite challenging circumstances.

“So whatever you go through in this world, its for a short period even if it lasts your entire life and in most cases it won’t. The real life is the life of the Akhirah. So Allah gives us hope. Allah wants us to be positive. Focus your goals and thoughts on Akhirah.”

Ml Ravat shared 15 advices and tips on how to develop positivity in one’s life and highlighted that at the core of positive thinking is حسن الظن بالله – Having Positive Expectations of Allah.

“Sahaba (RA) were positive, Sahaba (RA) were optimists. I came a across a quote which is so apt, it says ‘Pessimists see difficulty in every opportunity and an optimist see an opportunity in every difficulty.’ If the thoughts in your head are mostly negative, your outlook on life will be pessimistic.”

Ml Ravat further explains how having good expectations of Allah is and act of worship and listed the occasions when it necessary for Muslims to have good expectations of the Almighty Creator.
